2021 Monthly Color Challenge - March

March 2021- Yam - Red Orange

I love yams, however, finding yam fabric was a challenge. I found it on Spoonflower and ordered a fat quarter. I also ordered grapefruits and green olives. Not inexpensive, however, perfect for this quilt.

The Spoonflower fabric wasn’t as smooth/soft as my other fabric, it seemed stiffer. I washed it on gentle, dried and ironed it and then it was okay.

This month's block can be found on Pattern by Jen's Blog.

2021- UFO Challenge - February

The BVQ Quilt Guild has challenged its members to complete their unfinished projects. Background on the challenge here

# 10 was chosen for the month of February.

10. 2019 Monthly Color Challenge. Blocks completed, top needs to be sewn together.

I love doing the Monthly Color Challenge each year, completing the top and quilt is another story. This is the third year working on a monthly color challenge, information on the challenge may be found here. The reason the top was incomplete because I couldn't decide on a layout and quilting design. In a get it done state of mind, I sewed the blocks together and added two borders. I am thinking of making a scalloped edge on the quilted top. I haven't done that on a quilt and binding may be a challenge.

How to make Scalloped or Curved Border:

Monthly Color Challenge Quilts for 2020 and 2021 still need to be completed.
