Star Craving Mad: A Novel by Elise A. Miller. Arizona: SparkPress, 2015. 258 pages. ***
Maddy Braverman, thirty and single, teaches
first grade at an elite private school. Frustrated with her failure to
look for another job and dissatisfied with her mediocre life, she is awed when
the daughter of two A-list celebrities is added to her class roster. Arriving
in not one, but two limousines, Lola is a sweetheart, but her father is really "hot." Maddy's fantasies go into overdrive and it soon becomes
clear that Nic and Shelby Seabolt's marriage is in trouble and Maddy is in way
over her head. Maddy realizes that the celebrity life as portrayed in
Hollywood and gossip magazines isn't what it seems and not "real"
life.
A humorous look at life in a first grade classroom,
providing a glimpse of life in an elite school with a headmaster, aka, the Head
Molester. Definitely light hearted reading with adult situations and the sometimes-tawdry
life of celebrities. The story was well thought out, but seemed to be
trying too hard and was somewhat predictable.
I received a copy from BookSparks to review.
